Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has unveiled plans for a new luxury retreat in Moganshan, one of China’s most historic summer destinations. Scheduled to open in 2030, the Four Seasons Resort Moganshan will be the region’s first international luxury property with direct access to natural hot springs, setting a new benchmark for wellness-focused travel in Zhejiang Province.
Nestled among bamboo forests, tea plantations, and mountain trails, the resort will feature 90 villas, suites, and guestrooms designed to immerse guests in the surrounding landscape. Highlights include a hot spring complex with hydrotherapy experiences, meditation pavilions, and outdoor adventure offerings such as hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and kayaking.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to expand our presence in China in a destination that balances history, culture, and natural beauty,” said Bart Carnahan, President of Global Business Development for Four Seasons.
Guests will also find four dining venues, including a tea lounge celebrating Moganshan’s heritage, a full-service spa with seven treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, and wellness pavilions for yoga and meditation. The property’s design emphasizes sustainability, blending modern luxury with the area’s lush natural environment.
Located in Yu Village, just a high-speed train ride from Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Suzhou, the resort will strengthen Four Seasons’ footprint in the Yangtze River Delta alongside its existing lakeside and urban retreats.
According to Yang Guoliang, Chairman of Deqing Culture & Tourism Group, the project aims to “place Moganshan firmly on the global map as a destination of choice” while setting new standards for wellness and luxury hospitality in China.
With its rare access to hot springs and year-round appeal, Four Seasons Moganshan promises to become one of China’s most coveted luxury escapes for both domestic and international travelers.
