The Syrian authorities have commenced issuing electronic visas to foreigners, as reported by the embassy of the republic in Moscow. Applications can be submitted through the evisa.sy platform, with a processing time of 72 hours.

Regarding the payment of visa fees, the system offers two options: either through electronic payment or by deferring the payment until the visitor reaches the border checkpoints.

According to the Minister of Tourism of the Republic, Mohammed Rami Martini, the Syrian government has simplified the visa procedure to improve the situation in the tourism sector and facilitate the arrival of visitors from countries with no Syrian embassies or consulates.

The department anticipates that this year, the country will receive 2.5 million visitors, of which 40% will be tourists, and the number of tourist overnight stays will increase to 4.5 million.
