Indonesian carrier TransNusa has launched a new direct scheduled service between Bali and Phuket, further expanding its international network and strengthening Bali’s role as one of the airline’s regional hubs.
The new route connects two of Southeast Asia’s most popular island destinations, providing travellers with a convenient nonstop option between Indonesia and Thailand while supporting tourism, business travel and cultural exchange.
Four Weekly Flights
The Bali–Phuket service operates four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using Airbus A320 aircraft configured with 174 seats.
Flight 8B 541 departs Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 08:50 and arrives in Phuket at 11:50 local time. The return service, 8B 542, leaves Phuket at 13:50 and lands in Bali at 18:50.
The scheduled flight time is approximately four hours.
Strengthening Bali as an International Hub
According to TransNusa Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Bernard Francis, the new Phuket route forms part of the airline’s long-term strategy to establish Bali as one of its principal international hubs.
With the addition of Phuket, TransNusa now operates four international scheduled routes from Bali, alongside services to Perth, Singapore and Guangzhou.
The airline believes the new connection will appeal to leisure travellers, families, digital nomads and adventure seekers looking to combine two of Asia’s leading beach destinations within a single trip.
Supporting Tourism and Business
Beyond tourism, TransNusa expects the route to strengthen commercial ties between Indonesia and Thailand by making business travel easier and encouraging closer economic and cultural links between the two countries.
Introductory one-way fares are available from US$167.60, with tickets on sale through the airline’s website and major online travel agencies.
Further Expansion Planned
The Bali–Phuket launch follows TransNusa’s recent announcement of a new Jakarta–Bangkok service, scheduled to begin on 6 August.
The airline said additional international and domestic route launches will be announced before the end of 2026 as it continues expanding its network and reinforcing Bali’s position as a key gateway for regional travel.
