Omni Amelia Island Resort Completes $40 Million Renovation

Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa has completed a resort-wide transformation valued at more than $40 million, unveiling a fully renovated oceanfront destination on Florida’s Amelia Island. The extensive project modernises nearly every aspect of the resort while celebrating the island’s coastal heritage and natural beauty.

The renovation includes all 401 guestrooms and suites, new dining concepts, upgraded wellness facilities, redesigned public spaces, enhanced meeting venues, refreshed golf amenities and a curated collection of locally inspired artwork.

401 Redesigned Guestrooms and Public Spaces

The resort’s guestrooms and suites have been redesigned with coastal-inspired interiors featuring layered textures, soft natural colours and materials that reflect Amelia Island’s beaches and maritime landscape.

The arrival experience has also been transformed with a new lobby inspired by the island’s iconic live oak trees. Warm timber finishes, ocean-facing gathering spaces and artwork celebrating local history create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the resort.

Art plays a central role in the redesign, with commissioned pieces, regional artists, archival photography and contemporary works showcasing Amelia Island’s coastal habitats, maritime heritage and distinctive landscapes.

New Restaurants and Dining Experiences

The transformation introduces several refreshed dining concepts designed to reflect the island’s relaxed coastal lifestyle.

Nonna Mia replaces the former Verandah restaurant, offering coastal Italian cuisine inspired by Southern hospitality and family-style dining. Bright interiors feature colourful murals by Dallas-based artist Chera Creative.

Surfcaster succeeds Oceanside as the resort’s oceanfront seafood restaurant, combining maritime-inspired design with fresh coastal cuisine.

A new café, Palmetto Press Coffee & Provisions, serves specialty coffee, pastries, grab-and-go items and locally sourced products, while the signature breakfast restaurant FloraBelle has also been renovated.

Expanded Spa and Wellness Facilities

The Spa at Omni Amelia Island has been extensively upgraded with 19 renovated treatment rooms, redesigned relaxation areas and enhanced food and beverage offerings.

A new outdoor serenity courtyard introduces hot tubs, a cold plunge, lounge seating and landscaped wellness spaces designed for contrast therapy and relaxation. Natural materials and Lowcountry-inspired design create a peaceful environment throughout the spa.

Improved Event Spaces and Family Activities

Business and event travellers will benefit from renovated ballrooms, meeting rooms and public gathering spaces designed to accommodate conferences, weddings and corporate events.

Families can enjoy an updated Camp Amelia featuring supervised children’s activities, alongside a new Gamers Lounge equipped with classic arcade games and Nintendo Switch consoles.

Golf Enhancements

The resort has also expanded its golf offering with the addition of Little Sandy, a Beau Welling-designed short course and putting course suitable for golfers of all skill levels.

Meanwhile, the renowned Pete Dye-designed Oak Marsh golf course has undergone careful restoration while preserving its original character. Guests also continue to enjoy access to the nearby Tom Fazio-designed Long Point course.

The completion of the renovation further strengthens Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa’s position as one of Florida’s leading luxury coastal resorts, offering upgraded accommodation, expanded dining, wellness and recreation in the heart of Amelia Island.
