Royal Caribbean Backs Roald Dahl Charity on Legend of the Seas

Royal Caribbean has announced a new partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity ahead of the July 2026 European debut of Legend of the Seas.

The cruise line said the collaboration will feature the hit Broadway musical Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory onboard, giving guests ways to support the charity and help raise funds for specialist Roald Dahl Nurses.

The nurses care for more than 50,000 seriously ill children and their families across the UK.

The partnership links one of the world’s biggest cruise brands with a children’s charity founded to support families through specialist nursing care. Royal Caribbean said the initiative will be brought to life on board Legend of the Seas, which is due to make its European debut in July 2026.

The announcement adds a charitable dimension to the ship’s launch as the company prepares to introduce the vessel to the European market. The cruise line said the onboard experience will give guests meaningful ways to contribute while enjoying the themed production.

Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity works to fund specialist nurses for children with complex and serious health needs. According to the cruise line, the partnership aims to raise vital funds for those services through the ship’s entertainment programme.

Broadway musical tie-ins have become a growing part of cruise line entertainment strategies, with operators increasingly using high-profile stage productions to appeal to family travellers. In this case, Royal Caribbean is pairing a well-known children’s story with a charity message connected to healthcare support.

The musical Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has previously appeared on Broadway and remains one of the best-known stage adaptations of Dahl’s work. Its inclusion on Legend of the Seas gives the partnership a strong family focus as the ship moves towards its debut.
