Quark Expeditions has launched its Arctic 2028 and Antarctic 2028/2029 seasons, marking the earliest season launch in the company’s 35-year history.
The polar specialist says the programme includes more than 70 departures across the Arctic and Antarctica, with new options for travellers seeking remote wildlife, ice-covered landscapes and specialist-led expeditions. The season also introduces the Guided Photography Program, the company’s first Expedition Extensions, a new Canadian Arctic voyage through the Northwest Passage and the return of Tundra to Table.
Quark Expeditions, which has focused on the polar regions since 1991, said the new schedule is designed to broaden the range of experiences available to guests. The company has not yet provided full details on every departure, but it says the expanded programme reflects growing demand for immersive polar travel and longer exploration opportunities.
The Guided Photography Program is one of the new features added to the 2028 itineraries. Quark says it will give guests more support in capturing images of landscapes, wildlife and expedition moments during sailings in both polar regions.
The company is also introducing its first Expedition Extensions, which it says will add extra time and activities before or after selected voyages. These add-ons are intended to give travellers more flexibility and allow them to spend longer in destination.
Another new itinerary is a Canadian Arctic voyage through the Northwest Passage. The route is among the most famous and challenging in polar cruising, linking remote communities and historic sea lanes across the far north of Canada.
Quark has also brought back Tundra to Table, a culinary experience developed and delivered in partnership with the Greenlandic chef collective Igapall. The company says the offering combines local food culture with expedition travel, giving guests a chance to experience Greenlandic cuisine in a polar setting.
The early launch comes as expedition operators continue to expand their seasons and product range to meet demand for adventure travel in remote regions. For Quark, the announcement also underlines its long-standing focus on the Arctic and Antarctica, where it has operated for more than three decades.
The company said the 2028 programme is now open for bookings, with departures spread across multiple voyages and regions. It added that further details on specific itineraries, dates and extensions will be shared with travellers and trade partners through its standard sales channels.
