Quest Southport Opens with 90 Apartments on Gold Coast

Quest Apartment Hotels has opened Quest Southport on Queensland’s Gold Coast, adding a new 90-room apartment hotel to its growing Australian network and strengthening its presence in one of the country’s fastest-growing business and tourism destinations.

Located at 29–31 Lather Street, the purpose-built property offers studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom serviced apartments designed for both short and extended stays. Facilities include a rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre, guest laundry and secure on-site parking.

Designed for Business and Leisure Travellers

Each apartment features either a kitchenette or a fully equipped kitchen, allowing guests to prepare their own meals and enjoy the flexibility of apartment-style accommodation. Accessible accommodation options are also available throughout the property.

The rooftop pool, offering panoramic views across Southport and the Gold Coast skyline, is expected to become one of the hotel’s signature features for guests seeking to relax after work or sightseeing.

Prime Southport Location

Quest Southport is situated close to the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct, Griffith University, government offices and legal precincts, making it well positioned for business, medical and academic travellers.

The nearby Gold Coast Light Rail provides direct connections to Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and other major attractions, offering convenient access for both corporate and leisure guests.

Locally Owned Development

The property is owned and developed by the Vecchio Group and marks the company’s second Quest hotel. The family business traces its Australian roots to founder John Vecchio, who arrived in the country in 1960 and established a successful construction and development company. His son, Sam Vecchio, later expanded the business into residential, retail and hotel developments.

Quest Southport will operate under Quest’s locally owned franchise model, which focuses on employing local staff, supporting nearby businesses and building strong community connections.

Continued National Expansion

Quest Southport is the latest addition to Australia’s largest apartment hotel network, which now operates more than 120 properties nationwide. The company plans to open three new properties during 2026 as it works towards a target of more than 200 Quest hotels and 30 managed properties across Australia by 2030.

The expansion follows a successful year for the brand, with six Quest properties ranked among Australia’s top ten hotels in the Tripadvisor 2026 Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards. Quest also received the Franchisor of the Year award, including the category for franchise networks with more than 51 units, at the Franchise Council of Australia’s 2026 Industry Awards.
