Sail Croatia Adds 2 Wines of Croatia Cruises for Summer

Sail Croatia is expanding its popular Wines of Croatia cruise programme after adding two additional departures for autumn 2026, reflecting growing demand for specialist cruise holidays that combine food, wine and cultural experiences.

The company has increased the number of themed sailings this year from six to eight, with the newly added departures scheduled for October 4 and October 11. Both voyages will operate aboard Romantic Star, the newest vessel in Sail Croatia’s Elegance fleet, accommodating up to 36 passengers.

The seven-night itinerary sails between Split and Dubrovnik, offering travellers the opportunity to discover Croatia’s Adriatic coastline while exploring the country’s emerging reputation as a wine destination.

Experiences include a visit to a winery built inside a former military tunnel, a traditional Croatian Peka dinner paired with regional wines, and a wine-themed jeep safari on the island of Brač. Throughout the journey, guests can also explore historic coastal towns, islands and local vineyards.

Prices start from £1,749 per person for the October 11 departure.

Wine Tourism Continues To Drive Cruise Demand

The expansion comes as interest in experience-led travel continues to reshape the cruise market. Rather than focusing solely on sightseeing, more travellers are choosing itineraries centred around specific interests such as gastronomy, wine, wellness or culture.

Wine cruises have become one of the fastest-growing niche segments, appealing both to enthusiasts looking to deepen their knowledge and to holidaymakers seeking authentic local experiences beyond traditional tourist attractions.

For Croatia, the concept also helps showcase another side of the destination. While the country is internationally known for its Adriatic coastline, medieval cities and island-hopping routes, its centuries-old wine traditions are increasingly becoming part of its tourism appeal.

Sail Croatia’s Wines of Croatia cruises are designed to combine luxury small-ship cruising with vineyard visits, regional cuisine and expert-led tastings, offering guests a more immersive way to experience one of Europe’s fastest-growing wine destinations.
