Berjaya Air Gets First ATR 72-600 With Business Class Cabin

The world’s first ATR 72-600 featuring ATR’s new HighLine all-business class cabin configuration has officially entered service with Malaysia’s Berjaya Air, marking a major milestone in regional aviation.

The aircraft recently arrived in Kuala Lumpur after receiving certification from both the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Malaysian aviation authorities earlier this month.

First ATR HighLine Aircraft Delivered

The delivery represents two milestones for Berjaya Air — the airline’s first ATR 72-600 aircraft and the launch platform for ATR’s newly developed HighLine premium cabin concept.

The aircraft introduces a fully bespoke all-business class layout designed to bring a more private aviation-style experience to regional turboprop operations.

26-Seat Luxury Cabin Features 1-By-1 Layout

The cabin accommodates just 26 passengers in a spacious single-seat configuration, ensuring direct aisle access and multiple window views for every traveler.

The aircraft is equipped with handcrafted ETEREA business class seats produced by Italian manufacturer Geven.

ATR said the seats are the widest ever installed on the ATR platform and include personal storage consoles and expanded living space.

Executive-Style Cabin Design Introduced

One of the aircraft’s most distinctive features is its redesigned ceiling layout.

Traditional overhead bins have been removed and replaced with streamlined side valence panels, creating a more open cabin atmosphere with increased natural light.

ATR says the design creates a feeling comparable to large private jets while retaining the fuel efficiency advantages of turboprop operations.

Flights To Begin Between Malaysia And Koh Samui

Berjaya Air plans to begin operating the aircraft within days on a new route connecting Subang Airport near Kuala Lumpur with Koh Samui in Thailand.

The airline also intends to expand the premium “affordable luxury” concept across its growing regional network covering destinations in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.

The network will particularly focus on leisure destinations connected to the Berjaya Group’s hotel and resort portfolio, including islands such as Langkawi and Redang.

Aircraft Also Available For Charter Operations

Beyond scheduled services, the all-business class ATR 72-600 will also be offered for private charter operations across the Asia-Pacific region.

ATR Expands Into Premium Regional Aviation Segment

ATR chief executive officer Nathalie Tarnaud Laude said the HighLine cabin concept demonstrates the flexibility of the ATR platform in adapting to premium travel demand while maintaining operational efficiency.

The launch reflects growing interest in boutique regional aviation experiences that combine luxury hospitality with short-haul connectivity.
