IHG Expands Luxury India Portfolio With New InterContinental Resort Near Jaipur

IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its luxury presence in India with the signing of InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort, a major new hospitality project scheduled to open in early 2030.

The 225-key luxury resort will be developed in partnership with Makson India Hospitality Pvt Ltd and is expected to become one of Rajasthan’s largest high-end leisure and events destinations.

Located along the Delhi–Jaipur Road in Achrol, the resort reflects growing international investment in India’s booming luxury travel and destination wedding markets.

A Major Luxury Expansion Near Jaipur

The new InterContinental resort will feature 189 guest rooms alongside 36 luxury villas spread across a 16-acre site near Jaipur.

The project will become the second InterContinental-branded property within the Jaipur market and the fourth IHG hotel operating within the wider city area.

IHG said the development forms part of its wider strategy to strengthen its luxury and lifestyle portfolio across India’s fastest-growing leisure destinations.

Jaipur Continues To Attract Global Hospitality Investment

Jaipur remains one of India’s strongest tourism markets thanks to its historic architecture, cultural heritage and position within the country’s famous Golden Triangle travel circuit.

Landmarks including Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar and the historic Walled City continue attracting domestic and international visitors throughout the year.

The city has also become one of India’s leading destinations for luxury weddings, large-scale celebrations and high-profile social events, driving increasing demand for upscale hospitality infrastructure.

Luxury Resort Designed For Leisure And Events

InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort will include four dining venues, including a specialty restaurant, an all-day dining concept, a lobby lounge and a pool bar.

The property will also feature large event spaces, including a ballroom designed to accommodate weddings and major social gatherings.

Additional facilities are expected to include a spa, swimming pool, fitness centre, club lounge, retail outlets and extensive parking facilities.

According to IHG, the project aims to combine international luxury standards with experiences inspired by Rajasthan’s cultural heritage and regional identity.

India Becomes A Key Growth Market For Global Hotel Brands

IHG currently operates 52 hotels across India under brands including InterContinental, Six Senses, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express.

The company also has a development pipeline of 98 additional hotels as it works toward a long-term goal of more than 400 open and pipeline properties across the country within five years.

The latest Jaipur signing highlights how international hotel groups are increasingly targeting India’s luxury leisure segment, where rising domestic wealth, growing international tourism and destination-led travel continue fuelling expansion.

Achrol Emerges As A New Luxury Destination

IHG executives described Achrol as an emerging hospitality destination offering a combination of accessibility, natural surroundings and proximity to Jaipur’s cultural attractions.

The project is expected to further strengthen Rajasthan’s position within India’s luxury tourism market while attracting both international travellers and high-end domestic visitors seeking resort-style experiences beyond the centre of Jaipur.

As India’s tourism sector continues to expand, luxury hospitality investment across culturally significant destinations is expected to remain one of the industry’s fastest-growing segments.
