IHG to Launch All Six Luxury & Lifestyle Brands in Saudi Arabia by 2028

IHG Hotels & Resorts plans to introduce all six of its Luxury & Lifestyle brands to Saudi Arabia by 2028, further strengthening its presence in one of the company’s fastest-growing global markets and supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 tourism strategy.

The expansion will see each of IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle brands either operating or under development in Saudi Arabia, as the company continues to invest across the luxury, premium, essentials and suites segments to meet growing demand from domestic and international travellers.

Luxury Expansion Accelerates

IHG entered Saudi Arabia in 1975 with the opening of InterContinental Riyadh. Today, the company operates 48 hotels across the Kingdom and has another 62 properties in its development pipeline, making Saudi Arabia one of IHG’s largest growth markets worldwide.

Luxury & Lifestyle has become a key focus of that expansion, with the company responding to increasing demand for high-end, design-led and culturally connected hospitality experiences.

“Saudi Arabia is one of the world’s most exciting hospitality markets and one of the most strategically important for IHG,” said Haitham Mattar, Managing Director for the Middle East, Africa and Southwest Asia at IHG Hotels & Resorts.

He said the company’s goal extends beyond increasing its hotel portfolio, aiming to help shape the future of hospitality in the Kingdom by working with owners and partners to develop destinations that reflect evolving traveller expectations.

Multiple Brand Debuts Planned

The recent opening of Kimpton KAFD Riyadh marked the debut of the Kimpton brand in the Middle East, introducing one of IHG’s signature lifestyle brands to the Saudi market.

IHG’s upcoming openings include Six Senses Amaala in 2026 and Six Senses AlUla in 2027, following the launch of Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea in late 2023.

The company also plans to open Regent Jeddah Corniche in 2027, which will become both the first Regent hotel in Saudi Arabia and the brand’s regional debut. Hotel Indigo & Residences Al Khobar is scheduled to open in 2028, introducing the Hotel Indigo brand to the Kingdom.

Alongside InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Vignette Collection and other luxury brands, the projects form part of IHG’s long-term strategy to expand into destinations where luxury travel demand and tourism investment continue to grow.

Supporting Vision 2030

Saudi Arabia aims to attract 150 million visitors annually by 2030 as part of its Vision 2030 economic diversification programme. IHG said its broad portfolio enables it to serve business, leisure, domestic, religious and luxury travellers while providing hotel owners with globally recognised brands and commercial expertise.

Maher Abou Nasr, Managing Director for Saudi Arabia at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the company’s growth strategy is closely aligned with the Kingdom’s long-term ambitions, adding that its expanding Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio will help create lasting value for owners, guests and local communities.

IHG further strengthened its commitment to Saudi Arabia by opening a dedicated office in Riyadh in 2023 to support hotel performance, strengthen owner relationships and work closely with public and private sector partners as tourism development accelerates across the Kingdom.
