StudioRes Hotel Proposed For Overland Park
Developer TGC Group is seeking approval to build a new StudioRes Hotel in Overland Park, Kansas, as part of a proposed hospitality project near College Boulevard and Cody Street.
The planned development would rise on a vacant 2.8-acre site located just north of Rasmussen University in the city’s growing commercial corridor.
Four-Story Hotel Would Include 124 Guestrooms
According to submitted plans, the project would include a four-story hotel spanning approximately 53,000 square feet.
The proposed StudioRes property would feature 124 guestrooms designed around the extended-stay hospitality concept.
The development application includes plans for around 130 parking spaces surrounding the hotel building.
The site would be accessed through a single public entrance connected to Cody Street.
Architecture And Engineering Teams Named
MODUS Architecture has been selected as the project architect, while BHC is serving as the civil engineering firm for the development.
The project currently requires a special-use permit before construction can move forward.
Overland Park Continues Commercial Growth
Overland Park, one of the largest cities in the Kansas City metropolitan area, has continued attracting new hospitality, residential and mixed-use developments in recent years.
The proposed hotel site sits within an area that has seen increasing commercial activity driven by nearby educational facilities, offices and regional transportation access.
If approved, the StudioRes project would add another extended-stay accommodation option to the Overland Park market as demand for flexible and longer-term lodging continues growing across suburban business districts.
