Heston Blumenthal Secures New Investment for The Fat Duck Expansion Plans

Celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal has announced a new strategic investment from COMO Group into The Fat Duck group, supporting future expansion plans for the internationally renowned restaurant business in Bray, Berkshire.

The investment has been made into the group’s holding company, SL6 Limited, following what the company described as a strong period of financial and operational performance over the past year.

Investment To Support Future Growth

The funding will support the continued development of The Fat Duck, Blumenthal’s three Michelin-starred restaurant famous for its experimental multisensory dining experiences, alongside sister venue The Hinds Head, the Michelin-starred British pub located nearby in Bray.

According to the company, both restaurants have delivered strong results in recent months.

The Hinds Head has recorded consistent month-on-month growth over the past 18 months and is expected to achieve record performance this year.

Meanwhile, The Fat Duck has also experienced increased demand, with bookings remaining highly sought after during upcoming reservation periods.

COMO Group Brings Hospitality And Luxury Expertise

The partnership introduces COMO Group’s international hospitality experience into The Fat Duck group as the restaurants explore future expansion opportunities.

COMO Group operates a global portfolio of luxury hotels, restaurants and wellness destinations.

Heston Blumenthal described the agreement as an important step in the long-term evolution of the business.

“I’m incredibly proud of how The Fat Duck group has evolved over the past thirty years – helping to shape modern dining through curiosity, creativity and a willingness to do things differently,” Blumenthal said.

He added that COMO Group’s international expertise and hospitality experience would help support future ambitions in a sustainable and thoughtful way.

Partnership Signals New Chapter For The Fat Duck Group

Christina Ong, founder of COMO Group, said the company sees the partnership as the beginning of a significant new phase for the restaurant group.

“Heston is one of the most original and influential culinary minds of our time, and The Fat Duck group represents a truly unique part of global gastronomy,” Ong said.

She added that the partnership aligns closely with COMO Group’s focus on creativity, passion and hospitality innovation.

The companies said additional developments connected to the partnership and future growth plans are expected to be announced at a later stage.
