Spring travel to Spain just became easier and cheaper, as Wizz Air launches two new direct routes connecting London with Valencia, one of the Mediterranean’s most vibrant cultural destinations.
The airline has introduced flights from London Luton to Valencia, which began operating on March 29 with five weekly services. A second route from London Gatwick followed on March 30, also running five times per week. Fares start from as little as £17.99 and £16.09 respectively, positioning the routes as highly competitive options for short-haul European travel.
The addition marks a significant boost in connectivity between the UK and Valencia, particularly with the Luton route offering a new direct link that was not previously available. With these new services, Valencia is now accessible via direct flights from 11 airports across the UK and Ireland, including major hubs such as Manchester, Dublin, and London Heathrow. Flight times remain under three hours, making it an ideal destination for quick getaways.
The timing of the expansion aligns with Valencia’s peak spring season, when the city comes alive with cultural events and local traditions. Holy Week celebrations, running from late March into early April, bring processions and historic rituals to the streets, offering visitors a glimpse into the region’s heritage.
Beyond religious events, the city’s cultural calendar continues with live music and performances throughout April, including open-air concerts and intimate “Secret Concerts” hosted in unique venues across the city.
Food also plays a central role in Valencia’s spring appeal. The surrounding agricultural region of La Huerta supplies fresh seasonal produce to local markets and restaurants, underpinning the city’s renowned cuisine, particularly its rice dishes and regional specialties.
For travellers seeking a combination of culture, cuisine, and coastal atmosphere, the new routes arrive at a strategic moment, opening up Valencia as an accessible and affordable option for spring and early summer travel.
As airlines continue to expand low-cost networks across Europe, destinations like Valencia are becoming increasingly competitive alternatives to more crowded Spanish hotspots, offering rich experiences without the same level of congestion.
