Oceania Cruises has announced it will move to an adults-only cruise model, welcoming only guests aged 18 and over for all new reservations made from 7 January 2026 onward. The change marks a strategic shift for the luxury cruise operator as it seeks to further refine its onboard atmosphere and align more closely with guest preferences.
The cruise line confirmed that all existing bookings made prior to 7 January 2026 that include travellers under the age of 18 will be fully honoured, ensuring a smooth and considerate transition for current guests.
Oceania Cruises said the decision reflects its long-standing commitment to offering a calm, refined onboard environment centred on meaningful connection, exceptional cuisine and destination-focused travel. The line is widely known for its emphasis on fine dining, immersive itineraries and an unhurried pace at sea.
“Our guests have consistently shared that the tranquil environment aboard our ships is one of the primary reasons they return time and time again,” said Jason Montague, chief luxury officer of Oceania Cruises. “By transitioning to an adults-only experience, we are enhancing the very essence of the Oceania Cruises journey – one defined by sophistication, serenity and discovery.”
The company said the policy change follows extensive research and feedback gathered from repeat guests, travel partners and first-time customers. According to Oceania Cruises, responses consistently highlighted the importance of a serene atmosphere, attentive yet unobtrusive service and a relaxed rhythm, qualities that strongly resonate with mature, affluent travellers.
The move reinforces the brand’s long-standing positioning under its “Your World. Your Way.” promise, which focuses on giving guests the freedom to explore destinations at their own pace, savour each port of call and enjoy the company of like-minded travellers with a shared passion for culture, cuisine and discovery.
With the transition to adults-only voyages, Oceania Cruises aims to further differentiate itself within the luxury cruise market, sharpening its appeal to travellers seeking a refined, peaceful experience at sea while maintaining the hallmarks that have defined the brand’s identity.
