Oceania Aurelia To Debut With Around-The-World Voyages In 2028 And 2029

Oceania Cruises has revealed the inaugural itineraries for its newest luxury ship, Oceania Aurelia, including two 180-day Around the World voyages planned for 2028 and 2029.

The new vessel is scheduled to debut in late 2027 and will also operate extended Grand Voyages exceeding 70 days across multiple continents.

Oceania Aurelia Designed For Long-Distance Luxury Travel

Reservations for the new itineraries will open on May 13, 2026, following an online preview release by the cruise line.

Oceania Cruises said this marks the first time the company has simultaneously launched two world cruises.

Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, described the announcement as a major milestone for the brand.

“We are thrilled to welcome Oceania Aurelia, The Ultimate Explorer, to the fleet next year,” Montague said.

The ship will carry fewer than 500 guests supported by approximately 400 crew members, creating what the company describes as a more intimate residential-style onboard atmosphere.

2028 World Cruise Will Begin After Ship Christening

The first 180-day Around the World voyage will depart Miami on January 18, 2028, and conclude in New York.

Passengers on the sailing will also attend Oceania Aurelia’s official christening ceremony in Miami before departure.

The itinerary includes transit through the Panama Canal before visiting Hawaii, French Polynesia, Australia, Southeast Asia, Japan, India, the Arabian Peninsula and the Mediterranean.

Extended overnight stays are planned in destinations including Sydney, Bali, Singapore, Tokyo, Bordeaux and Seville.

2029 Voyage Focuses On Pacific And South America

The second 180-day world cruise will depart Los Angeles on January 6, 2029, before ending in New York.

The itinerary will follow the Pacific coast of the Americas, including stops in Peru, Chile and Easter Island before continuing through French Polynesia, Australia, Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean.

Passengers will also have access to optional overland excursions including visits to Machu Picchu, Petra and the Taj Mahal.

According to the cruise line, both global voyages will provide access to nearly 100 UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Additional Grand Voyages Announced

Alongside the world cruises, Oceania Aurelia will also operate two major Grand Voyages during 2028.

The 78-day Grand Nordic & Baltic Discovery sailing will depart New York on July 18, 2028, exploring Greenland, Iceland, Scandinavia and the Baltic region.

Meanwhile, the 71-day Grand South America Adventure voyage will depart Miami on October 27, 2028, featuring South America, the Caribbean, Antarctica and Peru.

Inaugural Season Begins In Europe

Oceania Aurelia’s inaugural season will begin in November 2027 with Mediterranean and European sailings.

The maiden voyage, titled Mediterranean Debut, will operate from Rome to Trieste over seven days beginning November 29, 2027.

Additional inaugural cruises include holiday sailings and the Oceania Club Reunion Cruise hosted by senior executives from the cruise line.

Guests booking either 2028 or 2029 Around the World voyage will automatically receive Oceania Club Gold status, while existing loyalty members will be upgraded to Platinum level or higher.
