Oceania Cruises has revealed plans for a new flagship experience with the launch of Oceania Aurelia, a reimagined vessel designed specifically for extended global journeys.
Set to debut in late 2027, the ship will become the centerpiece for the line’s long-haul itineraries, including its 2028 and 2029 Around the World voyages and a series of Grand Voyages. The vessel is part of the company’s OceaniaNEXT program, an initiative focused on elevating the onboard experience across its fleet.
Currently sailing as the Oceania Nautica, the ship will undergo a comprehensive transformation to create a more residential, boutique-style environment at sea. With fewer than 500 guests and nearly as many crew members, the concept emphasizes space, personalization and a club-like atmosphere.
Accommodation is central to the redesign. Of the ship’s 238 staterooms, 179 will be suites, many exceeding 300 square feet and some reaching up to 1,000 square feet. Guests can expect a range of upgraded categories, including Owner’s, Vista and Penthouse Suites, as well as new additions such as Oceania Suites and Horizon Suites, all featuring refined interiors and residential-style amenities.
Dining remains a key focus, in line with Oceania’s “Finest Cuisine at Sea” positioning. Restaurants such as The Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill and Toscana will be complemented by new culinary concepts, including a bakery and crêperie, while menus will reflect the regions visited during each voyage.
The onboard experience is also being expanded with new social and enrichment spaces. Highlights include the Founders Bar for curated cocktail experiences, a redesigned coffee venue, and a range of learning environments such as the Chef’s Studio for culinary workshops, the Artist Loft for creative activities and the LYNC Digital Center for interactive classes.
Wellness and relaxation are also being enhanced, with guests offered unlimited access to the Aquamar Spa Terrace for the first time, alongside a broader suite of spa and recovery experiences.
Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises, described the ship as the brand’s “ultimate world explorer,” designed for travelers seeking deeper immersion, more space and highly personalized service during long voyages.
With demand for extended, experience-driven travel on the rise, Oceania Aurelia reflects a growing trend in luxury cruising – shifting from traditional itineraries toward longer, more immersive journeys that combine comfort, culture and exploration on a global scale.
