Oceania Cruises to Host Editor’s Cruise with Hunter Lewis

Oceania Cruises is joining forces with Food & Wine to host an Editor’s Cruise featuring Food & Wine’s editor in chief, Hunter Lewis, on board its newly reimagined, 1,250-guest ship Riviera. The exclusive cruise is a can’t-miss opportunity for food and drink lovers and will feature a culinary demonstration hosted by Lewis, Oceania Cruises’ signature gala brunch, an exclusive Dom Pérignon Experience at La Reserve and more. Additional special guests on board include J’nai Gaither, a Champagne, wine and food writer extraordinaire, and Alex Prud’homme, a celebrated culinary author and the great-nephew of Julia Child.

The Food & Wine Editor’s Cruise departs on September 11, 2024, from Barcelona and explores epicurean hotspots across the Mediterranean, including Saint-Tropez, Rome (Civitavecchia), and Naples, and ends on September 21, 2024, in Athens (Piraeus), Greece.

Shipboard guest highlights are set to include two destination-focused Chef’s Market Dinners which will feature locally inspired dishes made with ingredients selected from markets in the port of the day, a special themed afternoon tea in Horizons, and Oceania Cruises’ famed gala brunch, usually reserved only for ship launches.

Additional experiences available for guests to book include the decadent Dom Pérignon Experience at La Reserve, which sees a different vintage of the renowned Champagne served with each delicious course, special wine tasting events, and bespoke culinary-focused shore excursions.

As the culinary leader in the cruise industry, Oceania Cruises has consistently elevated and innovated in the food and beverage space. The brand’s culinary team is truly the finest at sea, being the only team in the industry helmed by two Master Chefs of France: Alexis Quaretti, Senior Culinary Director, and Eric Barale, Vice President of Culinary.

“Oceania Cruises is a cruise line built by foodies, run by foodies, for foodies, so the collaboration with Food & Wine is a natural one,” said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. “Both brands are powerhouses in the culinary space and cater to the most discerning clientele. Oceania Cruises has been dedicated to serving The Finest Cuisine at Sea for the past 20 years, so we are thrilled to be joining forces with the incredible team at Food & Wine.

Hunter Lewis, editor in chief of Food & Wine, said: “I’m looking forward to joining the standout team of Oceania Cruises’ chefs and sommeliers for this special Editor’s Cruise experience. This is a one-of-a-kind way to share in Oceania Cruises’ commitment to culinary excellence and bring Food & Wine to life on board for the guests.”
