Temporary restrictions have once again been imposed on operations at Gelendzhik Airport, which is currently not accepting or dispatching flights. Earlier on Wednesday, similar measures were also introduced at the airports of Gelendzhik and Sochi.
The disruptions have caused widespread delays. More than 30 flights operated by Aeroflot and its subsidiary Rossiya, scheduled to depart from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport yesterday, were delayed.
In Volgograd, six flights to and from Moscow were canceled, while another four were delayed. Airports in Kazan and Nizhnekamsk also temporarily suspended arrivals and departures.
Regional airline Azimut was forced to cancel flights from Kaluga to both St. Petersburg and Mineralnye Vody due to temporary restrictions on airspace use.
