Hong Kong Airport Resumes Operations After Super Typhoon Ragasa Disrupts Travel

Hong Kong International Airport has resumed operations after services were disrupted by Super Typhoon Ragasa, according to the airport’s air traffic control center.

Authorities had earlier strongly advised against departures to Hong Kong, later extending the restriction. That advisory has now been lifted.

Official reports state that 62 people were injured during the typhoon. A total of 747 residents were relocated to 49 temporary shelters opened across the city, while more than 300 cases of fallen trees were recorded.

Ragasa swept through Hong Kong with wind speeds exceeding 50 meters per second before moving toward mainland China. The storm is expected to impact the provinces of Guangdong, Hainan, and Guangxi, with forecasts predicting landfall in northern Vietnam and Cambodia on September 26. Its effects will also be felt in China’s southwestern Yunnan Province.
