Travelers in the Moravian region are set to benefit from faster, more convenient rail travel as construction advances on the Brno–Přerov High-Speed Line. The second section, stretching from Nezamyslice to Kojetín, is scheduled for completion in 2029, promising trains traveling at speeds of up to 200 km/h.
The new line is expected to revolutionize tourism by connecting major cities with smaller towns, making weekend trips, city breaks, and cultural tours easier and more attractive. Brno, known for its architecture, festivals, and vibrant arts scene, will become even more accessible, while Přerov and nearby communities can expect a boost in visitor numbers.
Modernized stations, including Měrovice nad Hanou and Němčice nad Hanou, will offer enhanced comfort, accessibility, and seamless transfers for families, solo travelers, and visitors with reduced mobility. The upgraded rail network encourages exploration of Moravia’s historic cities, scenic countryside, culinary traditions, and local crafts.
Infrastructure improvements such as a 744-meter tunnel, bridge enhancements, and noise-reduction barriers ensure smooth travel while preserving the region’s natural beauty. Advanced safety systems and integration with European rail networks also make cross-border travel more convenient for international tourists.
The project, supported in part by €268 million in EU funding, emphasizes sustainability. High-speed rail produces lower carbon emissions than cars and planes, offering eco-conscious travelers a green alternative.
With reduced travel times, modern amenities, and stronger regional connectivity, the Brno–Přerov High-Speed Line is poised to make Moravia a more attractive destination for both domestic and international tourists.
