A drone launched by Yemen’s Houthi militants struck Ramon Airport in the southern Israeli city of Eilat, according to Israeli military officials and local media. No casualties have been reported so far.
Following the strike, Israeli authorities temporarily closed the airspace over the area. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that several drones were fired from Yemen, with some intercepted before reaching Israeli territory.
This is not the first such incident. In May, a Houthi missile landed near Ben Gurion International Airport, injuring four people. In response, Israeli forces targeted Sana’a’s main airport, disabling its operations.
The renewed drone strike highlights ongoing regional tensions and the risks posed to Israel’s critical infrastructure.
