Hyatt Hotels is expanding into the booming wellness tourism market with Retreats by World of Hyatt, a limited-time series of immersive wellbeing journeys across the U.S. designed for travelers seeking experiences beyond a traditional vacation.
The three- and four-day retreats blend expert-led programming with natural surroundings in destinations like Moab, Zion, and coastal California. Guests can participate in physical activity, guided exploration, workshops, and restorative practices:
Desert Flow at ULUM Moab (September 25–28, Utah): A glamping-based reset in the high desert with movement coach Hollis Tuttle, including hikes, mindful recovery sessions, sound baths, and tea-blending workshops.
Zion Unplugged at Under Canvas Zion (September 25–28, Utah): An off-grid hiking retreat featuring sunrise yoga, guided trail exploration, and fireside storytelling beneath the Dark Sky Park.
Fitness Performance Retreat at Park Hyatt Aviara (October 9–12, California): A science-backed program led by DBC Fitness coaches covering conditioning, sleep, nutrition, and spa recovery.
“Today’s travelers want more than just a relaxing getaway – they are seeking meaningful experiences that inspire and reconnect them to what matters most,” said TJ Abrams, Hyatt’s Vice President of Global Wellbeing. “These retreats are designed to meet guests exactly where they are, offering space, support, and tools to recharge mentally, physically, and emotionally.”
Hyatt has been integrating wellness across its properties for years, from collaborations with Peloton and Miraval Resorts & Spas to Ayurveda-based detox programs at Park Hyatt Maldives. New concepts expand this approach further, including Camp Unwritten, created with Under Canvas and Reese’s Book Club, and retreats at Andaz Peninsula Papagayo in Costa Rica featuring Blue Zones experts.
Spaces for these retreats are limited and can be booked through hyattexperiences.com. Hyatt plans to roll out additional wellness destinations in the future, signaling a strategic push into experiential travel and wellbeing tourism.
