Etihad Airways to Launch First-Ever Direct Flights to Russia’s Tatarstan in December 2025

Etihad Airways is expanding its global network with the first-ever regular flights to the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. The new service will connect Abu Dhabi with Kazan, the region’s capital, starting December 4, 2025.

According to the airline’s schedule, flights will operate three times a week — on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays — with a flight time of approximately 4 hours and 25 minutes.

The route is expected to run until April 19, 2026, and will be served by the Airbus A320.

“This launch marks the result of extensive collaboration between Kazan International Airport and our new international partner, Etihad Airways,” said Sergey Romantsov, CEO of Kazan International Airport.

A Strategic Step in Aviation Ties

The launch reflects a deepening of aviation and tourism ties between Russia and the United Arab Emirates, offering more direct options for business and leisure travelers alike. Kazan, a major cultural and economic center, is poised to become a new gateway for visitors from the Gulf region.

With its modern fleet and growing route map, Etihad’s entry into Tatarstan is expected to boost both tourism and connectivity — opening a new chapter for the region’s international presence.
