Wrocław Joins MICHELIN Guide Poland in 2025

MICHELIN Guide Poland is expanding once again—this time with the addition of the vibrant city of Wrocław to its prestigious list of destinations. Announced today, the move marks the fifth Polish region to be included in the world-renowned guide, joining Warsaw, Kraków, Poznań, and the Tri-City area of Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Sopot. The full restaurant selection will be revealed on June 10, 2025.

Wrocław, located in the Dolnośląskie Region of southwestern Poland, has earned its spot thanks to a culinary scene that blends tradition, creativity, and youthful energy. During their visit, MICHELIN Inspectors explored everything from Spanish and Korean eateries to modern Polish cuisine rooted in Silesian heritage. What stood out was the pride local chefs showed in showcasing regional ingredients and recipes—many of which draw from long-standing traditions but with a fresh, modern twist.

The city’s character clearly influenced the Inspectors’ impressions. Wrocław’s mix of historic charm and contemporary life is amplified by its large university population, contributing to a dynamic and forward-thinking atmosphere. Dining here isn’t just about the food—it’s about the experience, the setting, and the personality behind every dish.

The Inspectors walked the cobbled streets of Ostrów Tumski, strolled through Wrocław’s grand market square, and admired landmarks such as the Gothic Town Hall, Wrocław Cathedral, and the Royal Palace. They also enjoyed the city’s playful side, particularly its whimsical collection of over 800 dwarf statues that appear across the city in unexpected places. These small sculptures hint at Wrocław’s quirky spirit, which also finds its way into the kitchens and menus of its top restaurants.

As part of their standard process, the MICHELIN Guide’s anonymous reviewers evaluated restaurants based on five universal criteria: ingredient quality, flavor harmony, technique mastery, the personality of the chef as expressed in the food, and menu consistency over time. Their independent and rigorous method is the same used globally, maintaining the Guide’s reputation for trust and excellence.

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of The MICHELIN Guides, praised the inclusion of Wrocław as a reflection of the country’s growing gastronomic influence. He emphasized how the Guide continues to evolve alongside the global culinary landscape, highlighting places that offer not just exceptional meals, but unique cultural experiences.

The Polish Tourism Organization also celebrated the news. Rafał Szmytke, its President, noted the recognition as a proud achievement that ties in closely with Poland’s reputation for hospitality and its growing appeal to international food lovers.

Alongside its restaurant selection, The MICHELIN Guide also features a curated hotel collection. In Wrocław, travelers can expect stylish accommodations like the design-forward PURO Wrocław Stare Miasto, chosen for its personality and service. The Guide’s hotel listings are also independently reviewed and bookable via its website and app.

With this new addition, Wrocław stands poised to attract both seasoned gourmets and curious travelers looking for an authentic taste of Poland. As June approaches, all eyes will be on the city’s kitchens—and the chefs ready to make their mark.
