Deadly Fire Breaks Out at Kartalkaya Ski Resort Hotel in Turkey

A deadly fire erupted early this morning at a hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort in Turkey, resulting in the tragic deaths of 66 people. At least 32 others sustained injuries.

The blaze started around 3:30 AM (00:30 GMT) on the fourth floor of an 11-story hotel. Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene, including 30 fire trucks and 28 ambulances. In total, 85 vehicles and 231 personnel were involved in firefighting and rescue operations, with additional reinforcements continuing to arrive.

Governor of Bolu Province, Abdulaziz Aydin, confirmed that the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but he stated that it originated on the floor where the hotel’s restaurant is located. At the time of the fire, there were 234 guests staying at the hotel. Some tourists reported that they were unaware of the fire until the very last moment because the fire alarm did not go off.
