Armenian Airlines is set to restore regular flights to six Russian cities, Delhi, and Batumi starting December 9, 2024, marking a significant step in the carrier’s post-pandemic recovery and growth plans. The airline, based at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan, aims to reconnect Armenia with key regional and international destinations while expanding its global footprint.
The resumed Russian routes include Moscow, Mineralnye Vody, Sochi, Ufa, Kazan, and Volgograd. These flights will cater to both business and leisure travelers, enhancing connectivity with one of Armenia’s largest travel markets. Beyond Russia, Armenian Airlines will operate flights to Delhi, the capital of India, and Batumi, a popular Georgian resort city.
Founded in 2022, Armenian Airlines has ambitious plans to grow its network further, with future routes targeting Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The airline also announced its intention to launch flights to destinations in Egypt, leveraging demand for leisure travel to the region.
“We are committed to creating a reliable and comfortable air bridge connecting Armenia to the world,” said a spokesperson for Armenian Airlines. “Our current and planned destinations reflect our strategy to provide broader travel options for our passengers.”
The resumption of these flights is expected to boost tourism and trade, strengthen Armenia’s ties with neighboring countries, and offer greater travel options for the Armenian diaspora. As the airline positions itself as a key player in the region, its expanded route network is anticipated to contribute to the country’s economic development and global connectivity.
