SAS and Virgin Atlantic are pleased to announce a new codeshare partnership, set to enhance both business and leisure travel links between Scandinavia and key global destinations. Launching on October 7th, this collaboration will give SAS passengers access to Virgin Atlantic’s extensive route network through London Heathrow, with additional destinations becoming available as necessary approvals are finalized. Likewise, travelers flying with Virgin Atlantic from the US and Canada will now benefit from seamless connections through London Heathrow and Manchester onto SAS flights, reaching major Scandinavian cities such as Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Stavanger, and Bergen.
This partnership comes on the heels of SAS officially joining the SkyTeam alliance on September 1st, granting EuroBonus members the opportunity to immediately earn and redeem points when flying with Virgin Atlantic. In turn, Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club members can enjoy similar rewards when traveling on SAS-operated flights, adding a new dimension of flexibility and benefits for frequent travelers of both airlines.
EuroBonus Gold and Diamond members, as well as Virgin Atlantic Gold Flying Club members, will also benefit from SkyPriority services at London Heathrow, which include perks like expedited check-in, priority baggage handling, and faster boarding. Additionally, Virgin Atlantic Gold and Silver members can take advantage of SkyPriority services and access to SAS lounges at key Scandinavian hubs, including Stockholm Arlanda, Copenhagen, and Oslo airports.
This new codeshare agreement solidifies the relationship between the two airlines, offering passengers more convenience, connectivity, and rewarding experiences as they travel across Europe and beyond.
