On Tuesday, September 10, the operations of three airports in the Moscow region — Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky — were temporarily restricted due to the drone attack, according to an official statement.
As clarified by Rosaviatsiya (the Federal Air Transport Agency), Vnukovo and Domodedovo halted both arrivals and departures starting at 01:17 Moscow time (MSK), while Zhukovsky followed at 01:46 MSK. At 07:00 MSK, temporary restrictions were also imposed on Kazan airport.
The restrictions for Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky were lifted at 07:58 MSK, and operations at Kazan resumed at 09:00 MSK. During the suspension at Zhukovsky, drone debris was reportedly found in the area.
While the three Moscow airports were temporarily closed, 48 flights were diverted to alternate airfields. During the restrictions at Kazan airport, two flights were redirected: one to Samara (Kurumoch) and another to Nizhnekamsk (Begishevo).
