Turkish Airlines is close to restoring its flight schedule between Russia and Turkey, according to reports from Rosaviatsia, Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency. The agency has confirmed that it is closely monitoring the situation.
Turkish Airlines has faced challenges in maintaining its flight schedule between Moscow and Turkey due to widespread delays that began over the weekend. As a result, dozens of Russian tourists have been waiting for their flights at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport.
“Turkish Airlines is close to restoring its flight schedule to and from Russia. Specialists from Rosaviatsia continue to monitor the situation with Turkish Airlines flights,” the agency stated.
Rosaviatsia also noted that, according to airline information, passengers affected by earlier delays have been provided with services in accordance with Russia’s federal aviation regulations.
“Tour operators are in contact with tourists, but there have been no mass complaints, as the schedule changes have generally been minor. Turkish Airlines is providing passengers with food and hotel accommodations depending on the length of the delay,” the association stated.
They also mentioned that delays for Turkish Airlines flights departing from Moscow are decreasing. “On the afternoon of September 2, according to the Vnukovo Airport schedule, Turkish Airlines flights to Antalya, Dalaman, and Istanbul are experiencing delays ranging from 15 minutes to 5 hours. Flights TK 212, TK 3957, and TK 3965 to Antalya, scheduled for September 3, may be delayed by 25 to 45 minutes,” ATOR reported.
It was noted that long-delayed flights to Antalya, such as TK 3957 (9 hours), TK 6897 (7 hours), and TK 3967 (6 hours), have departed from Moscow.
The disruptions are partly attributed to the temporary closure of Vnukovo Airport on September 1, which led to some flights being redirected to Sheremetyevo and Pulkovo airports.
