Turkish Airlines has renewed its partnership with Cover Genius, extending a collaboration focused on expanding travel insurance and embedded protection services across international markets.
The renewed agreement marks the next phase of the airline’s strategy to strengthen ancillary revenue while improving customer experience through tailored protection products.
Expansion Planned Across New International Markets
As part of the extended partnership, Turkish Airlines plans to introduce Cover Genius protection products into additional markets, including Australia and Latin America.
The airline also intends to roll out more customised protection options in the United States and European Union, designed to meet the needs of different passenger groups and regional travel patterns.
Officials said the expanded strategy will also include a broader range of protection products responding to changing customer expectations and evolving travel risks.
Partnership Has Expanded Rapidly Since 2023
The collaboration between Turkish Airlines and Cover Genius first launched in 2023 as a domestic deployment before rapidly scaling internationally.
According to the companies, the programme now operates across 57 countries.
Turkish Airlines reported that Gross Written Premium (GWP) generated through the insurance programme has grown at approximately three times the airline’s organic growth rate since the partnership began.
The airline also reported a 37% increase in Net Promoter Score (NPS) linked to protection services, with customer satisfaction levels performing above industry averages.
Fast Claims Processing Highlighted As Key Benefit
Claims handling has emerged as one of the partnership’s strongest performance indicators.
The companies stated that nearly three quarters of all claims are paid within five days of submission.
The protection offering has also expanded beyond the initial booking process, with new insurance options now available through “Manage My Booking” services as well as standalone products for offline and staff travel bookings.
The companies said this broader integration is designed to create a more consistent and frictionless customer experience.
Focus Shifts Toward Embedded Protection Strategy
Angus McDonald, CEO and co-founder of Cover Genius, said the renewed agreement reflects a broader industry shift toward making protection a core part of the travel journey.
“Our partnership focuses on using that reach to facilitate the next level of customer experience,” McDonald said.
“This renewal reflects a shared belief that embedded protection, when designed properly, can scale globally, remove friction for travellers, and deliver meaningful value for passengers and the airline.”
Turkish Airlines continues to expand ancillary products as airlines increasingly focus on additional revenue streams and personalised passenger services across global markets.
