Avelo Airlines, the Houston-based ultra-low-fare carrier, has announced its largest expansion in its five-year history. The airline has introduced 18 new services, marking its entry into international travel with flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Cancun, Mexico.
Central to this expansion is the new hub in central Florida at Lakeland, set to open on October 24. From this hub, Avelo will serve seven new destinations. The airline is also expanding operations at its Connecticut and central Florida bases. All new routes will be operated with an expanded Boeing 737NG fleet on a twice-weekly frequency.
Avelo Airlines CEO Andrew Levy described this expansion as a pivotal moment for the airline, highlighting its commitment to providing reliable and affordable travel. “Adding more airplanes and destinations, I am very excited about the momentum and growth we are seeing across our business,” Levy said. “These expansions are expected to create numerous job opportunities in both regions.”
This strategic growth reflects Avelo’s dedication to enhancing its service offerings and extending its reach to more travelers.
