Gulf Air has announced the launch of charter flights to Sochi from Manama. The flights will operate once a week on Mondays during the summer, with plans to extend to the spring season. The service will utilize Airbus A-321 aircraft, each with a capacity of 166 seats.
The flight will arrive in Sochi at 20:15 Moscow time and depart for Manama at 21:15.
“We are very pleased that in 2024, we are starting to implement our strategic direction, which we had planned for our route network development even before the pandemic,” said Alexander Nikonov, Deputy General Director of Aerodinamika LLC. This holding company includes Sochi Airport.
Nikonov also mentioned that discussions are underway regarding the possibility of operating flights between Sochi and Manama during the winter season.
Active efforts to expand the route network at Sochi Airport have been ongoing since 2022, noted Alexey Komarov, Managing Director of the airport. The Middle East is considered a priority among international destinations.
“We will continue our efforts to attract customers on the Middle Eastern routes. Our projects include Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar,” he said.
