Norlana, poised to become a vibrant community promoting an active lifestyle, represents the latest addition to Neom, the forward-looking multibillion-dollar mega city taking shape in north-western Saudi Arabia.
Situated along the Gulf of Aqaba coastline, this residential area is designed to accommodate 3,000 residents across 711 properties, encompassing mansions, apartments, and beach villas seamlessly integrated into the adjacent mountains.
Additionally, the development includes ambitious plans for a 120-berth marina, aiming to establish itself as an international hub for superyachts. The marina will feature a yachting members’ club, along with water taxi services catering to the needs of both residents and visitors.
An 18-hole golf course will sit between the mountains, alongside an equestrian and polo center. Sailing and diving will also be offered.
Sport, health and well-being will be at the core of this community, as will sustainability, with a particular focus on preserving local land and marine environments, according to the announcement.
This news follows recent announcements of other Neom destinations, including Leyja, a mountainside valley of which about 95 percent will be preserved for nature, while the rest will include three hotels, fine-dining restaurants and outdoor activities.
Hexagon-shaped luxury hotel Siranna was also announced last month, as well as the Epicon hotel, resort and residences.
Earlier this month, Neom unveiled Utamo, a project aspiring to be an immersive venue for art and entertainment. It features a versatile performance space, VIP lounges, and signature restaurants.
Neom has gained global attention for its bold engineering and sustainability initiatives, notably The Line—a 170km stretch of a vertical city—announced by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in 2021.
Prince Mohammed, in an interview with the Discovery Channel earlier this year, stated that the ultimate goal for Neom is to have 10 million residents upon completion. He addressed skeptics who deemed the project “too ambitious.”
