The story of Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich dates back to Christmas Eve in 1838 when Johannes Baur, a young baker from Vorarlberg in Austria, founded the city’s first grand hotel, the Hotel Baur. Exactly 185 years later, this historic icon is reborn in the days just before Christmas, opening its doors to international travelers and the local community after an extensive renovation.
To commemorate the spirit of Christmas and honor the hotel’s original opening date, Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich has collaborated with legendary luxury jeweler Harry Winston to create stunning Christmas trees. Adorning the hotel’s lobby, restaurants, and signature suites, these trees are beautifully decorated in Harry Winston’s signature blue and gold, adding a festive sparkle to the season.
Renowned Paris-based interior designer Tristan Auer has reimagined Mandarin Oriental Savoy, seamlessly blending historical details with contemporary style. The hotel maximizes its extraordinary views over the city’s landmarks, offering guest rooms and suites designed for both aesthetics and functionality.
