Royal Caribbean Return to Sailing in Singapore

Royal Caribbean International today celebrated its healthy return to sailing in Singapore with the game-changing Quantum of the Seas. After months of careful planning and collaboration with Singapore’s health and tourism authorities, the cruise line’s Quantum Class ship departed from Marina Bay Cruise Centre on the first of its 3- to 4-night Ocean Getaways. The sailings are available only to Singapore residents, and treat guests to a bold lineup of activities, world-class dining and spectacular entertainment in transformative venues, all on board one of Royal Caribbean’s most innovative ships.

“We are thrilled to once again welcome guests aboard Quantum of the Seas and offer Singapore residents the opportunity to get away, relax, and start enjoying the travel experiences they’ve been missing for so many months,” said Angie Stephen, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Royal Caribbean International. “We are grateful to the Singapore Government for their partnership in making these pilot cruises a reality and pledge our commitment to providing our guests with the safest possible cruise experience.”

Quantum of the Seas sets sail with comprehensive, multilayered health and safety measures in place that are rooted in science, data driven and developed with expert guidance from the Healthy Sail Panel, Royal Caribbean Group’s Head of Public Health and Chief Medical Officer and the Singapore Ministry of Health. The new protocols start before the sailing with pre-departure health screenings, and meet all regional requirements and guidelines, including the CruiseSafe Certification standards jointly developed by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and DNV GL[1]. The ship will operate with reduced occupancy, implement mandatory universal testing during embarkation and debarkation, and enforce mask wearing, physical distancing and enhanced cleaning practices across the ship, among other required practices. In addition, all guests will need to scan their SafeEntry QR code required by Singapore upon embarkation and debarkation and have the Singapore Trace Together Bluetooth app or Token at all times during the cruise. Singapore vacationers booking an Ocean Getaway can expect the signature Royal Caribbean experience they know and love while also enjoying peace of mind that the cruise line is making every effort to protect both guests and crew.

The ground-breaking Quantum of the Seas features Royal Caribbean’s unmatched innovations in onboard attractions, including the North Star, a glass capsule that takes guests more than 300 feet above the ocean for incomparable panoramic views, RipCord by iFly skydiving and a FlowRider surfing simulator. Guests will be dazzled with the ship’s cutting-edge transformative venues, such as Two70, a great room by day and an immersive, multimedia entertainment venue at night, and SeaPlex, the largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea with bumper cars, roller skating, trapeze school, basketball, and more. Guests will also get to enjoy a choice of 18 onboard restaurants, each serving a distinctive menu of delectable fare, and rollicking live entertainment in the Music Hall, the Royal Theater and Royal Esplanade.
