Following more than EUR 10 million in investments, a historic five-star Les Chalets du Mont d’Arbois, Megève, a cosy 41-room hotel located in the enchanting community of Megève, France is reborn as a Four Seasons experience.
“We are delighted to continue our partnership with the Rothschild family as we celebrate the opening of a second Four Seasons in Megève,” says Christian Clerc, President, Global Operations, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. “For decades the village and surrounding mountains have been a favoured getaway for lovers of the outdoors, and now, we are pleased to enhance the experience even further with this reinvention of a much-loved classic, introducing a new era of luxurious sophistication to Les Chalets du Mont d’Arbois.”
Both Four Seasons hotels, and indeed Megève itself, are the legacy of the Edmond de Rothschild family. The meticulous restoration and refurbishment of Les Chalets du Mont d’Arbois was personally overseen by Ariane de Rothschild, Chairwoman of the Board of the Edmond de Rothschild Group, in collaboration with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, famed for his interior design of Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris.
With three unique buildings to choose from, guests may enjoy a stay that suits their personal style, whether in the classic luxury and refined atmosphere of Chalet Noémie, the bohemian chic of Chalet Alice, or the more traditional Chalet Eve. Both Chalet Alice and Chalet Noémie are available for exclusive buyouts. Next season, Les Chalets du Mont d’Arbois will unveil the Suite Idéal, a very special accommodation high up in the mountain wilderness, fully serviced by Four Seasons.
Les Chalets du Mont d’Arbois is also home to Prima, the Michelin-starred restaurant helmed by Chef Nicolas Hensinger and overseen by Executive Chef Julien Gatillon of Michelin two-starred Le 1920, located within sister property Four Seasons Hotel Megève.
Additional on-site facilities include a welcoming lobby lounge and bar; a spa with treatment rooms, hammam, sauna and indoor/outdoor relaxation areas; a heated indoor-outdoor swimming pool; and in winter, a skating rink adjacent to Chalet Eve. Guests of both properties enjoy seamless access to all facilities, including preferred seating at restaurants, signing privileges, and transfers.
A Year-Round Mountain Playground
A short walk to the pedestrians-only village centre, Les Chalets du Mont d’Arbois is the perfect choice for those who wish to enjoy it all. Megève is home to international luxury boutiques, interesting art galleries, and a wide variety of restaurants and bars including several Michelin-starred establishments, as well as picturesque Alpine architecture, small churches and cobblestoned streets.
“We suggest a tour via horse-drawn carriage, bundled up in blankets while you take pictures of the village and surrounding mountains. Or, the historic Calvary Path is a lovely trail to hike or cycle, unique to Megève,” says Joachim Jacob, Hotel Manager.
Minutes from the village and Hotel, the Alps beckon with some of Europe’s best skiing as well as snowboarding, ice skating, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and much more. To access ore remote runs, book a Four Seasons Heli Ski Safari.
Christmas and New Year’s in Megève
Chef Nicolas Hensinger will offer festive menus at Prima on both December 24 and 31, 2019, while Le 1920 will once again celebrate Orthodox Christmas Eve, with Chef Julien Gatillon’s menu finished with a special surprise dessert by Chef Nicolas Lambert of Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace St. Petersburg.
In celebration of its opening, guests of Les Chalets du Mont d’Arbois may book the Grand Debut Offer, featuring 20 percent savings on the regular room rate through April 5, 2020.
