On July, 20 the new project “Strategy of hospitality management in Altai region” was started. This event was organized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in cooperation with the Lausanne Hotel School (Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne) and Administration of Altai region supported by Federal Agency for Tourism.
Aim of the project is to transform Altai into the competitive tourist destination.
Last year Altai region took part in a program “Strategy of the Silk way: summons 2012”. The program referrers to creating a strategy of a tourist sector development in 10 countries-participants located at the route of Silk way.
The project was carried out by about two hundred diploma students of the Lausanne Hotel School. The winner team had an opportunity to gain practical management experience in hospitality sphere by taking part in creation of long-term development strategy in cooperation with tourist administration, branch educational institutions and business community. This is what participants of the Altai program will be working with.
According to the Federal Agency for Tourism, it is planned to carry out valuation of requirements for the following main areas: human resources, destination marketing and promotion.
Results of these resources will be used by a group of international experts for seminars organization.
Special recommendations will be also prepared for tourist administrations of different level and for participants of tourist market. Balneal resort of federal value Belokurikha was chosen as a main object for a detailed research.
