St. Petersburg is getting more and more international hotel properties – Ramada Encore by Wyndham brand will open in the Moscow district of St. Petersburg in November 2022. It will be the first Ramada Encore by Wyndham hotel in Russia.
Five buildings with a total area of about 120 thousand square meters. m will be erected in five years. The first of them, a 26-storey building, will house a 3-star hotel under the Ramada Encore brand with 469 rooms. The project will be implemented by the Becar group.
Becar plans to develop the second building as an apart-hotel under the Vertical brand. The third building will house a hostel run by an international network, while the fourth and fifth will have service apartments.
It is planned that the 26-storey hotel will include 469 rooms. The first two floors will be dedicated to multifunctional public areas that can be used by both hotel guests and local residents. And the upper floors are intended for rooms for guests of the city. The hotel is planning to include several conference rooms; ballrooms that can be used for big congresses: restaurant, bar, and coffee-house; spa-center and hair salon, gym and swimming pool.
A mid-price 3-star hotel will be of interest not only to business tourists, whose demand is due to the specifics of the location (good transport accessibility to the congress and exhibition center and Pulkovo Airport) but also to millennials who are gaining economic activity, whose share in the global tourist flow is increasing.
Сurrently, the number of rooms in St. Petersburg is 22,300 units (excluding hostels and mini-hotels). A third of them are in the “three stars” category. The segment of good quality hotels in this segment is represented mainly by local brands. As for foreign hotel brands, they work in the segment of four-five “stars”.
Within the framework of partnership with the international operator Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, it is planned to launch 30 hotels in a ten-year period.
Wyndham currently has no hotels in St. Petersburg. In Russia, Wyndham operates in 6 cities: Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Elabuga, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don and Voronezh, where hotels under the Ramada brand are located.
