Hyatt Expands Presence in Spain with Debut Luxury Thompson Hotel in Seville

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced a new hotel in Seville for Thompson Seville. This new venture represents Hyatt’s debut in Seville, the fourth-largest city in Spain, recognized as one of the country’s most captivating destinations and the second-largest tourist hub globally.

Expected to welcome guests in 2026, the luxury lifestyle property will feature 101 rooms, making it the fourth Thompson Hotels establishment in Europe. It will join the ranks of Thompson Madrid, operational since 2022, Thompson Rome, scheduled for a mid-2024 opening, and Thompson Vienna, set to become part of the Hyatt portfolio in 2025.

With 18 Thompson Hotels already established across 16 cities worldwide, the introduction of Thompson Seville is a pivotal move aligning with the brand’s expansion strategy. Hyatt continues to strengthen its presence in highly sought-after locations throughout Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Thompson Hotels is celebrated for capturing a destination’s unique creative spirit, seamlessly blending distinctive design with culinary sophistication. The brand is recognized as a vibrant hub for tastemakers, emerging creatives, and culturally savvy travelers, fostering connections based on shared inspirations.

Seville, home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, renowned flamenco music, Andalusian gastronomy, and timeless charm, provides an ideal backdrop for a hotel dedicated to curating authentic local experiences. Thompson Seville, conveniently located within walking distance of the city center, invites guests to immerse themselves in the rich cultural tapestry both within the hotel and the surrounding area.

The meticulously designed guestrooms and suites aim to redefine modern luxury, offering a blend of contemporary elegance in a city celebrated for its extraordinary artistic and architectural legacy. In addition to accommodation, Thompson Seville will feature a restaurant, a captivating rooftop bar with a pool, dedicated meeting rooms, coworking space, a gym, and other amenities.

This strategic move reflects the accelerated growth of the Thompson Hotels brand within Hyatt’s expanding presence in Spain. Hyatt’s portfolio in Spain encompasses 11 distinct brands, featuring iconic properties in cities like Madrid and Barcelona, along with resorts in the Canary and Balearic archipelagos. Currently, Hyatt boasts the fourth-largest hospitality portfolio in Spain based on room count.
