Dublin Express Launches New Direct Service

Traveling from Belfast to Dublin Airport has become significantly more convenient with the introduction of Dublin Express’ new direct service. This service is expected to eliminate approximately 25,000 car journeys during the busy months of July and August alone.

The formal launch of the service was graced by the presence of Minister of State for Transport Jack Chambers. The service will offer 16 daily trips in each direction, with the first departure from Dublin City/Airport at 05:20/06:00 and the last departure at 00:10 and 01:00.

Dublin Express provides convenient pick-up and drop-off locations, including stops at Burgh Quay, Westland Row, and Custom House Quay in Dublin. Additionally, there is a dedicated stop right outside Dublin Airport Terminal 1, as well as a city center stop in Glengall St, Belfast, just five minutes away from City Hall.

Rory Fitzgerald, General Manager of Dublin Express, expressed his excitement about the new Belfast route, highlighting the tremendous demand from prime locations such as Westland Row and Custom House Quay in Dublin. The company aims to provide a new level of luxury travel for passengers heading to Belfast, with the added benefit of pick-up options on the south side of the city center. The response to the new service has been overwhelming, with 14,000 tickets sold within five hours of the announcement. The company estimates that in the initial weeks of operation, they will replace over 25,000 car journeys between the two cities, thanks to people opting for the new service.

Miriam Ryan, representing daa, the operator of Dublin Airport, emphasized the significance of the new route in facilitating travel for passengers from Northern Ireland. As a large number of passengers reside in and around Belfast, this service is expected to be highly popular. Dublin Airport is committed to increasing public transport options for passengers and looks forward to introducing additional services in the near future.
