easyJet Set for Biggest Summer Ever with 39 Million UK Seats

easyJet and easyJet holidays are preparing for their busiest summer season on record, with the airline expecting to carry more than seven million UK passengers during the school holidays and operate its largest-ever schedule.

Across the summer season, easyJet will operate more than 380,000 flights across its network, including over 45,000 services to and from the UK. The airline has also increased capacity to more than 39 million seats from UK airports—around 500,000 more than last summer.

Record Summer Schedule

The airline has expanded its UK operations with eight additional Airbus A320 family aircraft based at Bristol, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, and Glasgow.

easyJet has also introduced 53 new routes this summer, giving customers more options to leisure destinations including Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco.

The busiest day of the season is expected to be Monday, August 31, when approximately 366,000 passengers are forecast to travel on nearly 2,200 flights across Europe and beyond.

Spain and Portugal Lead Summer Demand

Spanish destinations continue to dominate bookings from the UK.

Malaga and Palma de Mallorca rank among the most popular destinations this summer, while Faro in Portugal remains a favorite for travelers seeking sunshine, beaches, and outdoor activities.

For package holiday customers, Turkey, the Balearic Islands, and Greece are among the most popular destinations for families.

easyJet Holidays Sees Strong Family Demand

easyJet holidays is also expecting its strongest summer season to date.

More than one-quarter of children traveling on easyJet holidays package vacations are doing so through the operator’s free child place offer.

Club Mac Alcudia in Majorca is the company’s most-booked hotel this summer, followed by One Resort Aqua Park in Tunisia.

Popular Domestic Routes

Within the UK, Edinburgh is the most popular destination for domestic travelers during the summer holidays, followed by Belfast, as many passengers visit friends and relatives.

According to easyJet, the expanded summer schedule reflects continued demand for affordable leisure travel and package holidays.

The airline continues to offer promotional fares across its network, with discounted flights available from major UK airports including London Gatwick, Luton, Southend, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, and Glasgow to destinations across Europe.

With additional aircraft, increased capacity, new routes, and growing demand for package holidays, easyJet is expecting 2026 to become the busiest summer season in the airline’s history.
