Mirai’s Sarai AI Now Supports Multi-Room Hotel Bookings

Mirai has introduced multi-room booking capabilities to Sarai, its AI-powered conversational hotel booking assistant, allowing travelers to search for and reserve multiple rooms through a single conversation without restarting the booking process.

Released on July 16, the update is designed to simplify reservations for families, couples traveling together, and small groups whose accommodation needs extend beyond a single room. The feature is available at hotels using Mirai’s booking engine with Sarai enabled.

One Conversation for Multiple Rooms

Instead of requiring guests to repeat searches for each room, Sarai can now understand natural-language requests involving multiple accommodations. Travelers can ask for combinations such as two rooms for a family, separate rooms for two couples, or several rooms for friends traveling together.

The assistant checks live availability through the hotel’s booking engine, presents pricing options, allows guests to assign occupants to individual rooms, and continues the reservation process within the same conversation.

This creates a smoother experience than traditional booking flows, which often require users to restart searches or manually configure multiple rooms through complex booking forms.

Available Across Multiple Channels

The enhanced functionality is supported across the communication channels where Sarai already operates. Depending on the hotel, guests may access the assistant through the hotel’s website, WhatsApp, email, Instagram, telephone interactions, or integrations with AI platforms using the Model Context Protocol.

However, the availability of the feature depends on whether an individual hotel has activated Sarai and supports multi-room bookings through its direct booking channel. Inventory, room restrictions, and pricing remain under each hotel’s control.

Multi-Room Reservations Generate Higher Revenue

Mirai says its own booking data highlights the commercial importance of multi-room reservations.

According to the company’s 2026 figures, bookings involving two or more rooms accounted for 9.07% of reservations made through its web booking engine but generated 18.45% of room nights and 18.44% of total revenue.

The company also found notable differences between desktop and mobile users. Multi-room reservations represented 10.86% of desktop bookings compared with 7.08% on mobile devices, suggesting that simplifying the booking process may particularly benefit smartphone users.

Conversation data from Sarai also reflected similar demand. During the previous 30 days, 7.03% of availability inquiries involved two or more rooms, while requests for three or more rooms generated disproportionately higher revenue potential.

Although these figures reflect Mirai’s own customer base rather than the wider hotel industry, they underline why the company considers multi-room functionality an important enhancement rather than a niche feature.

Larger Group Bookings Are Routed to Hotel Staff

For larger reservations that exceed a hotel’s online booking limits—typically around five or six rooms, although thresholds vary by property—Sarai automatically transitions the conversation to the hotel’s sales process.

The assistant collects essential booking information, including the guest’s contact details, travel dates, room requirements, and stay preferences. The request is then forwarded to the hotel’s sales team through Mirai’s Lobby dashboard, while hotel staff receive an email notification to continue the booking process.

Mirai notes that this handoff does not constitute a confirmed reservation. Hotels must still verify availability, pricing, booking conditions, and any contractual requirements, particularly for events, weddings, reunions, and other group stays that may require deposits, rooming lists, or customized cancellation policies.
