Dusit International has announced plans to expand its lifestyle-focused ASAI Hotels brand in Thailand with two new properties in Southern Thailand, reinforcing its strategy to grow in destinations known for culture, community and local experiences.
The company has signed hotel management agreements for ASAI Hat Yai and ASAI Patong Phuket, with the hotels scheduled to open in 2028 and 2029, respectively.
Growing the ASAI Brand
Designed for travellers seeking authentic local connections at accessible prices, ASAI Hotels combines compact guestrooms with vibrant communal spaces built around the brand’s “Eat, Work, Play” concept.
Since launching with ASAI Bangkok Chinatown in 2020, the brand has expanded to include ASAI Bangkok Sathorn and ASAI Kyoto Shijo in Japan. Its development pipeline also includes projects in Malaysia and the Philippines.
“Today’s travellers are increasingly looking beyond traditional hotel stays. They want places that reflect the character of their destination, provide opportunities for connection, and deliver meaningful experiences without compromising on quality or value,” said Chanin Donavanik, Group CEO of Dusit International.
ASAI Hat Yai
Located on Samchai Road in the centre of Hat Yai, the 116-room hotel will introduce the brand to one of Southern Thailand’s most important commercial and tourism hubs.
The property will offer guestrooms for solo travellers, couples, families and groups, along with an all-day restaurant, café and bar, co-working spaces, meeting facilities and a fitness centre designed to create a lively neighbourhood gathering place.
Hat Yai continues to attract strong domestic and cross-border tourism thanks to its transport links, street food culture and Thai-Chinese heritage.
ASAI Patong Phuket
Scheduled to open in 2029, ASAI Patong Phuket will feature approximately 85 guestrooms in the heart of Patong, around five minutes from Patong Beach.
The hotel will include a ground-floor café and social hub, rooftop swimming pool and fitness centre, providing guests with a lifestyle-oriented alternative to Phuket’s traditional beach resorts.
International Expansion Continues
ASAI Hotels will make its Malaysian debut in the third quarter of 2026 with the opening of ASAI Gamuda Cove near Kuala Lumpur.
The brand is also preparing to enter the Philippines with ASAI Oslob Cebu, scheduled for late 2027, followed by ASAI Camaya Coast in late 2028.
ASAI is one of nine brands within Dusit Hotels and Resorts. Across its portfolio, Dusit operates hotels in 19 countries and has more than 50 additional properties under development worldwide.
