OUTRIGGER Phi Phi Island Resort Opens In Thailand’s Protected Marine Paradise

OUTRIGGER Phi Phi Island Resort has officially launched in Thailand, offering guests a secluded luxury retreat inside one of Southeast Asia’s most protected marine environments.

Accessible only by boat, the resort is located within a national park where development remains tightly restricted to preserve the surrounding ecosystem and natural landscape.

Luxury Villas Inspired By Thai Island Traditions

The resort’s accommodation concept is inspired by “Nit Thra,” a Thai philosophy focused on rest, tranquility and restoration.

Suites and villas feature handcrafted furnishings, organic textiles and woven details influenced by local island craftsmanship, combined with contemporary luxury amenities.

Three key accommodation categories form the core of the resort’s offering, including the Hilltop Ocean View Pool Villa with private infinity pools, the Beachfront Pool Villa positioned directly on the sand, and the Family Garden Villa surrounded by tropical greenery.

Guests arrive at the property by sea, stepping directly onto the beach with panoramic views across the Andaman Sea.

Southern Thai Cuisine Shapes Dining Experience

Dining at the resort centers around Southern Thai culinary traditions.

At Mala Kitchen, chefs follow the “Samrub Thai” philosophy, focusing on balance between flavor, texture and regional cooking heritage.

Menus highlight fresh seafood, regional spices and locally sourced ingredients prepared by chefs with deep roots in southern Thailand’s food culture.

The Edgewater Bar & Grill offers open-air dining overlooking the Andaman Sea, serving seafood dishes, tropical cocktails and traditional curries.

Marine Adventures And Cultural Experiences Available

The surrounding national park is considered one of Southeast Asia’s richest marine ecosystems.

The resort offers PADI-certified diving excursions to coral reefs inhabited by sea turtles, manta rays and reef sharks, alongside eco-sensitive boat tours exploring nearby islands and mangrove channels.

Additional activities include Thai cooking classes, non-motorized water sports and traditional bead-making workshops inspired by the culture of the indigenous Urak Lawoi community.

Guests are also able to visit Tonsai Village, Phi Phi’s main entertainment and dining district, via short boat transfers.

Local Heritage Shapes Resort Identity

The Urak Lawoi people, who have lived across the islands for centuries, played a central role in shaping the resort’s design and cultural experiences.

Each guest receives a handcrafted bead bracelet during arrival, reflecting traditional Urak Lawoi customs and craftsmanship.

The resort said sustainability was a central priority during development, with construction using local organic materials and architectural designs focused on natural ventilation, reduced waste and environmental preservation.

Officials said operating within a protected national park requires strict environmental responsibility.

Resort Joins Global Loyalty Network

OUTRIGGER Phi Phi Island Resort has also joined the GHA DISCOVERY loyalty platform, connecting the property with more than 35 million members across 1,000 hotels in 100 countries.

Members can access special rates, loyalty rewards and DISCOVERY Dollars through the programme.
