IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in Spain with the signing of its first Kimpton hotel in Madrid.
The new property, developed in partnership with El Corte Inglés and advised by Colliers Hotels Iberia, will bring the lifestyle luxury brand to the Spanish capital for the first time when it opens in mid-2030.
The signing strengthens Kimpton’s growing presence in Spain, where the brand already operates hotels in Barcelona, Mallorca and Marbella.
Luxury Hotel Planned For Salamanca District
The future hotel will be located on Goya Street in Madrid’s prestigious Salamanca district, one of the city’s most exclusive neighborhoods.
Occupying a landmark heritage building, the property will feature 106 guestrooms and suites designed around Kimpton’s signature lifestyle-focused hospitality concept.
The hotel will place guests within easy reach of Madrid’s luxury shopping, fine dining and cultural attractions.
Rooftop Dining And Wellness Facilities
Plans for the hotel include a ground-floor restaurant, a spa and an indoor swimming pool.
A rooftop restaurant and bar will offer views across Madrid’s skyline, historic buildings and distinctive city rooftops.
The property is expected to combine contemporary luxury with the architectural character of the historic building.
Kimpton Continues European Expansion

Known for its design-led approach and emphasis on local culture, Kimpton plans to incorporate Madrid’s creative energy, culinary traditions and social scene into the guest experience.

According to Spain’s National Institute of Statistics, international visitor spending in Madrid reached a record €17.9 billion in 2025, representing an 11% increase compared with the previous year and a 71% increase compared with 2019 levels.
The strong growth in tourism demand has attracted increasing investment from international hospitality brands seeking to expand in the Spanish capital.
