Emirates is restoring its pre-disruption schedule on the Dubai-Beijing route by replacing the Airbus A380 with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and reinstating a second daily service from July.
The change marks another step in the airline’s network recovery following operational disruptions caused by regional tensions earlier this year.
Despite the withdrawal of the A380, Emirates says overall capacity on the route will remain largely unchanged thanks to the addition of the second daily frequency.
Second Daily Beijing Flight Returns
The Dubai-based carrier will once again operate two daily flights between Dubai International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport.
While the Airbus A380 offers greater seating capacity on a single flight, the restored second service ensures that Emirates can continue meeting demand while providing passengers with additional schedule flexibility.
The move also increases cargo capacity on the route, an important factor given the growing trade links between China and the Gulf region.
Boeing 777 Replaces Airbus A380
Emirates last operated the A380 on the Beijing route in May and has not regularly deployed the superjumbo to the Chinese capital since the end of February.
The airline will now utilize Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which have historically been the standard equipment on the route.
As a result, the aircraft change is viewed as a return to the carrier’s normal operating pattern rather than a reduction in service.
Network Recovery Continues
Like several major Gulf carriers, Emirates faced operational challenges following the outbreak of regional conflict earlier this year, which resulted in airspace restrictions and network disruptions.
However, the airline has steadily restored services across its global network and is now operating close to its full schedule.
Only a limited number of destinations continue to operate with temporary reductions in frequency or capacity.
A380 Expansion Elsewhere
Although Beijing will lose regular A380 operations, Emirates continues to invest in its flagship aircraft across other parts of the network.
The carrier plans to return the Airbus A380 to four additional routes during July as demand continues to recover.
The latest schedule adjustments demonstrate Emirates’ strategy of balancing capacity, premium demand and cargo opportunities while rebuilding its network following months of operational disruption.
