LOT Polish Airlines is expanding its network in Southeast Europe by increasing flight frequencies from Warsaw to both Zagreb and Ljubljana, citing strong passenger demand and continued growth on the routes.
The additional services will be introduced from September and will provide travelers with more flexibility when flying between Poland, Croatia and Slovenia. The expansion further strengthens LOT’s position in the region while enhancing connectivity through its Warsaw hub.
The frequency increases come as the airline continues to record rising demand for travel to both destinations, which have become important markets within its European network.
More Flights To Zagreb From September
LOT currently operates up to twelve weekly flights between Warsaw and Zagreb. Beginning in September, the carrier will increase the route to fifteen weekly services through the addition of new flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
The aircraft operating the new services will remain overnight in Zagreb before returning to Warsaw on Wednesdays, Fridays and Mondays. The additional flights will operate under flight numbers LO609 and LO610.
The airline said Zagreb remains one of its most important destinations in the region, with capacity continuing to grow year after year.
In 2026, LOT plans to offer more than 118,000 seats between Warsaw and the Croatian capital, compared with 108,800 seats in 2025 and approximately 97,000 seats in 2024.
Croatia Continues To Be A Key Market
LOT’s operations to Croatia extend beyond Zagreb, with seasonal services also connecting Poland to Split and Dubrovnik during the summer travel season.
Split is currently served four times per week, while Dubrovnik receives three weekly flights. Depending on demand, the airline deploys Embraer regional aircraft as well as Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets on Croatian routes.
According to LOT, more than one million passengers have traveled on its flights to Croatia between 2001 and 2025. During that period, the carrier operated more than 16,000 flights to destinations including Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Rijeka and Pula.
Ljubljana Receives Additional Services
The airline is also increasing frequencies on its Warsaw-Ljubljana route. Currently operating up to nine weekly flights, LOT will raise the schedule to eleven weekly services from September.
The expansion will add new flights on Wednesdays and Fridays from Warsaw, with return services from Ljubljana operating on Thursdays and Saturdays. These flights will use flight numbers LO621 and LO622.
The additional frequencies are intended to improve connectivity for both point-to-point travelers and passengers connecting through Warsaw to destinations across Europe, North America and Asia.
Strategic Importance Of The Slovenian Route
LOT describes Ljubljana as one of its key destinations in Southern Europe, serving both leisure and business travelers while providing Slovenian passengers with access to the airline’s wider international network.
The route recently marked its tenth anniversary, highlighting a decade of continuous operations between the Polish and Slovenian capitals.
With additional services now planned for both Zagreb and Ljubljana, LOT is further strengthening its presence in Southeast Europe and responding to sustained growth in travel demand across the region.
