Malta is preparing for a busy summer festival season in 2026, with a packed programme of music, food and wine events taking place across the islands. From international pop stars and electronic music acts to traditional wine celebrations, the Mediterranean destination will host a diverse range of festivals between June and August.
Historic locations including Valletta’s gardens, Ta’ Qali National Park and waterfront venues will provide the backdrop for a summer calendar designed to attract both international visitors and local audiences.
Festival season begins with Earth Garden and DLT Malta
The summer programme gets underway with the return of Earth Garden Festival in Ta’ Qali. One of Malta’s longest-running alternative music events, Earth Garden combines electronic music performances with camping, cultural activities, wellness experiences and family-friendly entertainment.
In early June, DLT Malta returns with its focus on R&B, soul and afrobeats. The 2026 edition, themed “The Last Dance”, will take place from 4 to 7 June across several venues, including Vegas Resort and UNO Malta. International performers, including R&B star Brandy, are expected to headline the event.
Isle of MTV returns to Floriana
One of Malta’s largest annual events, Isle of MTV Malta, will take place on 22 July at Il-Fosos Square in Floriana. The free outdoor concert has become one of Europe’s biggest music festivals of its kind and regularly attracts thousands of visitors from across the continent.
For 2026, global pop star Katy Perry has been confirmed as one of the headline performers, continuing the festival’s tradition of hosting internationally recognised artists.
Beer and wine festivals take centre stage
Food and drink enthusiasts will also have plenty to enjoy throughout the summer.
The Farsons Beer Festival returns to Ta’ Qali from 23 July to 1 August. One of the country’s most popular events, the festival combines live music performances, local food vendors and a traditional Maltese festival atmosphere. Admission remains free of charge.
Meanwhile, Valletta’s historic Hastings Gardens will once again host the Marsovin Summer Wine Festival. Overlooking the Grand Harbour, the event showcases Maltese wines alongside local gastronomy and live entertainment.
August brings Malta’s busiest festival month
August marks the peak of Malta’s festival season, beginning with the Delicata Classic Wine Festival in Valletta’s Upper Barrakka Gardens.
Held from 7 to 9 August, the event is recognised as Malta’s oldest surviving wine festival and offers visitors the opportunity to sample local wines while enjoying food stalls and live performances in one of the capital’s most scenic locations.
Music fans can also look forward to Summer Daze, taking place across two dates on 11 and 15 August. The festival will feature major international acts, with Lewis Capaldi and Calvin Harris among the headline performers announced for 2026.
Glitch Festival celebrates a decade of electronic music
At the same time, electronic music enthusiasts will gather for Glitch Festival, which runs from 12 to 15 August.
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the festival has become one of the Mediterranean’s leading techno events. This year’s edition will feature nine stages and performances from internationally renowned artists including Amelie Lens, Ben Klock and Rødhåd.
With its combination of major music events, food festivals and wine celebrations, Malta continues to strengthen its position as one of the Mediterranean’s leading summer festival destinations. The 2026 programme offers visitors the chance to experience both the islands’ vibrant contemporary culture and their long-standing culinary and wine traditions.
