Sweden Summer Festivals 2026: 8 Events to Book Now

Sweden is preparing for a busy summer festival season in 2026, with major music events, cultural celebrations and traditional Midsummer festivities scheduled across the country from June through August.

Major Music Festivals Return In June And August

Sweden Rock Festival will take place in Sölvesborg from 3 to 6 June 2026, bringing major rock and metal acts to southern Sweden.

Rosendal Garden Party will return to Stockholm’s Djurgården from 12 to 14 June 2026, combining outdoor concerts with food, gardens and summer nightlife.

Brännbollsyran will also take place in Umeå in early summer, mixing live music with its well-known amateur sports tournament atmosphere.

Way Out West will return to Gothenburg in August 2026, combining music, film, talks and sustainability-focused programming.

Midsummer Remains Sweden’s Biggest Summer Tradition

Swedish Midsummer celebrations will take place on 19 and 20 June 2026, with maypole dancing, flower crowns, traditional food and late-night gatherings across the country.

Popular places to experience Midsummer include Skansen in Stockholm, the Stockholm Archipelago, Sandhamn and Grinda.

Ängsbacka Midsummer Festival is scheduled for 18 to 20 June 2026, offering a more community-focused celebration with music, workshops and wellness activities.

City Festivals Fill The August Calendar

Stockholm Culture Festival will run from 12 to 16 August 2026, bringing free concerts, theatre, dance, street performances and food events to the Swedish capital.

Malmö Festival is also expected to return in August 2026 with free live music, food markets and public events across the city.

The Baltic Sea Festival will take place in Stockholm from 21 to 29 August 2026, focusing on classical music and performing arts.

Sweden’s 2026 festival calendar is expected to support hotels, restaurants, transport providers and local businesses during the peak summer travel season.
